Would you like to give your patrons free access to Photoshop training? Would helping them learn about video and animation at no cost to you or to them be good? How about your patrons who need to learn to use Microsoft Office – would you like some free training??
I’m sure the answer to all of that is yes!
The American Graphics Institute has established a Library Partner Program, that gives you access to self-paced online classes and digital books your patrons can use in your library. Read on, for all the details!
Free Computer Skills Training for Library Patrons
American Graphics Institute’s Library Partner Program offers no-cost technology training and digital books to library patrons from participating libraries. The self-paced online courses cover a range of popular skills:
- Digital Design: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Creative Cloud
- Video and Animation: After Effects, Premiere Pro
- Web Development with HTML, HTML5
- Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project
Free Digital Classroom Books from American Graphics Institute
These self-paced training programs are from the authors of the Digital Classroom series of books and training videos that were created by American Graphics Institute. More than one million of these books are in print. Access to the training includes free Digital Classroom book access: complete digital versions of these books are provided to participating library patrons. Access to accompanying video tutorials from the authors and lesson files are also provided.
Qualifications for libraries to participate
The program is available at no cost to all libraries in the United States, including individual branches and library systems. The program needs to be promoted to library patrons by the participating library through its website and some type of communication to patrons, whether an email newsletter or any other form of communication so that patrons know about the program.
How to Get Started
Request to join the American Graphics Institute library partner program by completing this form. After you request to join, you will be contacted by American Graphics Institute to start the program. We will discuss your plans to promote access to the no-cost courses and books and how the materials will be accessed by patrons.
We do not collect information about library patrons, their courses, usage, or contact information. American Graphics Institute offers the no-cost program for any user who is working at your library, with no sign-in or registration required. If the user is on your network, they will be given full access to the training content. We will only contact them if specifically requested to do so, for example, to answer a technical question. We do not solicit library patrons for other services or books.
