“Ebooks Minnesota now includes titles from the independent publisher, Chicago Review Press.  They are “committed to championing voices from underrepresented communities and working with authors whose race, color, sex, national origin, age, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, military or veteran status, or disability bring diverse perspectives” to readers.  Chicago Review Press has been around since 1973 when it was founded by Curt and Linda Matthews, English instructors at Northwestern University at the time. 

Ebooks Minnesota welcomes these adult fiction and non-fiction titles from Chicago Review Press, including several by feminist icon Phyllis Chesler, Women and Madness, Woman’s Inhumanity to Woman, Letters to a Young Feminist, and With Child: A Diary of Motherhood.  There are many titles that are very pertinent today, like All the Dreams We’ve Dreamed, about the reality of gun violence and a In the Margins Book Award winner, My Midnight Years, a memoir by a victim of American racist government-organized practices.  You can also find titles like Afrofuturism, which acts as a primer for black sci-fi and fantasy culture, and “introduces readers to the burgeoning community of artists creating Afrofuturists works.”  “
