We want to share information about a very good program our colleagues at Metronet are running for library people across the state! Join in, chat about books, and enjoy yourself!
From Metronet:
Talkabout Books Schedule We invite you to come and talk books with us and other readers. The 4th Thursday of the month at 4pm, we will gather on Zoom to talkabout books. Come to share or come to get some new book recommendations. Everyone is welcome. Read our guidelines for the discussions. Registrants will receive a book list the day after the event. If you sign up, we hope you attend, but in the event you are unable, please email your book suggestion to Olivia (olivia@metronet.lib.mn.us) so we can add it to the book list. If you have a suggestion for a future book discussion, please drop Olivia a line. If you would like to facilitate a discussion, let Olivia know that, too. |
A Chill in the Air! As the weather cools, early darkness returns, the owls start hooting, and the trees start creaking, does your reading menu change to horror? Are you re-reading the classics like Dracula or everything Edgar Allan Poe wrote? Maybe trying a gothic novel or two or a ghost-in-the-attic tale? What about witches or werewolves? Is modern horror more your cup of hemlock? Have you discovered any ‘cozy’ horror to recommend to those of us who really don’t like to be frightened while we read in the dark of night? So whether you like being terrified or just want to know what to avoid, join us for a fearsome conversation. When? Thursday, October 28 @ 4pm Where? Zoom This month will be hosted by Carol Jackson, Branch Manager/Adult Program Manager, Ramsey County-Shoreview Library |
