We’re already having a “fun” flu season. So you know we are going to have an equally “exciting” burst of covid infections this fall and winter. Again: bleh. (If you haven’t already had your flu shot and your Covid booster – today is a great day to get that done!)

Tests can be helpful for your community members to keep building their own health, and making good choices for themselves. So, check out this opportunity for Minnesota libraries to grab some cases of tests to share with your community!

From MDH:

MDH currently has a supply of iHealth OTC Tests in which we would like to extend an invitation to MN Library Systems to order and distribute to the public for free. The current inventory has expiration dates in July of 2022 printed on their packaging, but has received a second extension of their expiration dates. This means that although the packaging may state the tests expire in July of 2022, the current inventory of MDH iHealth OTC Tests actually expire in January of 2023. Because of this, MDH would request that MN Library Systems hand out the attached PDF with all tests. This can be done by printing the Expiration Date Extension PDF and displaying the attached instruction sign (instructing the public to take the PDF with extension info when they take tests) where the tests are being distributed. Please see attachments in this email and the information below to support the extended expiration dates.  

• All iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests currently have an 6 month expiry from the original expiration date. Please reference the Lot # on the kit box, not on each individual test.
