We know most of our members are working at home, or providing hybrid library services. When the quarantine first started, we provided a page every single day, with activities for kids to do at home. The more we can do cooperatively, the less everyone has to come up with individually.
So each week, we will provide you with some resources you can use online, to share with your community members. You can also link to our original page right here, and share it with anyone in your community.
So, what could you be doing this week? Here are a few ideas:
Wondrous Ancient Asia
“Ancient Asia has a fascinating history, with many of the world’s greatest religious traditions emerging from this region Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. In this section you will learn about architecture, daily life and different Indian foods to help you have a better understanding how people lived and how this culture thrived.”
We’re Cooking Now: Mini pizza quiches
We always say this, but when you are working in the kitchen be sure you talk to your adult before you get started. You can make some nice food for yourself, and have some to share it with you family!
All the instructions are on this website. And here are the ingredients you will need today:
- 2 large tortilla wraps
- 4 eggs
- chopped vegetables (optional)
- 6 slices salami
- 3 cherry tomatoes, halved, plus extra to serve
- handful basil leaves
- vegetable sticks, to serve
Let’s Make It: Tin Can Windsocks
It may not be warm outside right now, but this is a great project you can make! (Always talk with your adult before you start on projects, so you can talk through your ideas.) You can find all the instructions for making this project on this website. And here are the materials you will need for this project:
Supplies Needed:
- Clean Recycled Can (any size will work!)
- Acrylic Paint & Paintbrushes
- Glue (we prefer Elmer’s Craft Bond Glue, Tacky Glue, or a Low-Temp Glue Gun)
- Assorted Ribbons (you could also use Yarn, Colored Paper, etc.)
- Optional embellishments like Glitter, Stickers, Gemstones, Sequins, etc. as desired
- Masking Tape or Duck Tape
Get Up! Get Moving!
We all know that working at home is tough. There is a lot of working on the computer, and that is hard. So we need to get up! Jump around! Kick our feet! Burn off wiggly energy! And help our happy chemicals to bounce around! So, let’s do this!
