A recent study by Texas A&M University and the University of Louisville highlights the benefits associated with standing desks in elementary classrooms. The control and treatment groups were comprised of 282 students in grades 2-4 over one school year. Researchers found that the treatment group showed a 12% increase in the students’ ability to stay on task. Mark Benden, an associate professor who worked on the study, summed it up nicely by saying, “simply put, we think better on our feet than on our seat.”
