Hang With CMLE: Upcoming Member Events!

CMLE provides opportunities for members of the library world to connect and get together in-person. This month we have several more opportunities and want you to know that you are invited!

Tuesday, March 10th: Susan Steinberg 2020 McNeely Creative Writer in Residence at St. Ben’s. The public reading starts at 7pm in Upper Gorecki and we can sit together for the author presentation. More info and RSVP here.

Wednesday, March 11th: Book Group Discussion (new location!) We will be meeting at La Casita in Waite Park at 5:30pm. We gather for dinner and everyone shares a book they are reading or have enjoyed. It’s really fun to hear the variety and recommendations and a great way to get to know people.

Tuesday, March 17th: Crafters gather to chat and work on projects! Join us from 6pm – 8pm in the Array room at the St. Cloud Public Library. Whether you are a hard-core, life-long crafter, or if you just got started last week in trying to figure out how to thread a needle, you are welcome here.

Meetup Events in January (including one this week!)

Happy Monday, friends! The holidays may be over but we have plenty of opportunities to get together and enjoy some book-related fun this month.

This week on Wednesday, January 8th from 5:30-7:30pm we will be having our next Relaxed Readers Meetup event! We will be meeting at Mexican Village Downtown. RSVP here!

Our book group had the option to all read the same book this month (Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project) but this is absolutely not required reading. I loved hearing about all the different books people were reading last month! 📚

Can’t make it this week?

We have more meetups planned this month (read below) and will soon have a February date to share, too!

Tuesday, Jan. 21st 6 – 8pm: Crafting Meetup!
Bring your craft project to the session, and let’s have some time to chat and get some work done. Be prepared to admire other people’s work! Join us in the small meeting room at the St Cloud public library; just come in the front door, turn right, and we are in the second room. RSVP here.

Thursday, Jan. 23rd 6-8pm: Read Your Book Session at Crossroads Center
Did you set a New Year’s resolution to read more books, or do you like to read and lack the time? Join us!
We will be in the food court in Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud, all sitting together with our books. You can snack or have dinner at any of the venues, or just enjoy your book. Come in and out on your schedule – we’ll just be happy to see you! RSVP here.

Relaxed Readers Meetup Group THIS WEEK! 😊

We are so excited to get together with local book fans this Wednesday! If you like to read, we would love to see you there! (CMLE membership and/or Vast Literary Knowledge not required!)

We just want to enjoy dinner and some easygoing book conversation. We’ll have fun questions prepared beforehand and look forward to hearing about what you are reading!

Join the Relaxed Readers Meetup Group

Book fans, listen up! We’re excited to be trying something new. CMLE has started a Meetup Group called Relaxed Readers. It will be an in-person book group, but instead of everyone reading the same book and having Very Important Literary Discussions (also fun, don’t get me wrong) we want people to come to chat about whatever book they are reading at the moment. And just an FYI, you are welcome to join us even if you are not a CMLE member!

If the group indicates interest in all reading one book together, awesome! We can do that! If everyone would prefer to just share their own Currently Reading selection, fantastic! We just want to enjoy dinner and some easygoing book conversation. We’ll have fun questions prepared beforehand and look forward to hearing about what you are reading!
