CMLE members: we encourage you to attend conferences (virtual and in person), so you can hang out with people who do thing things you do in libraries. There are many conferences across Minnesota that would be interesting to you, and the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference is coming to our (general) area this June! If you have not been to one yet – picture more than 25,000 library people, from every corner of the library world, with every job and every title possible in libraries, all gathered together to learn, network, and to have fun!
If you have experience in marketing, graphic design, or communications, and can get together virtually on April 4th, this would be a fun introduction to the conference!

2017 PR Xchange Awards Competition
sponsored by the PRMS Section of LLAMA
We are seeking experts in marketing, graphic design, and communications. We are seeking those who are employed in libraries and in the commercial world. We are meeting on Sunday April 2, 2017 from 12:00pm-6:00pm at a home residence (with a cat) in New York City in the Union Square neighbourhood of Manhattan. The residence is next to many major subway stops. Details on the address and directions will be sent out in March 2017. Judges cannot be submit materials to the competition as that would be a conflict of interest.
You will be *very* well nourished throughout the day with coffee, juice, soda, snacks, fruit, and an elaborate Whole Foods (vegan) Party Platter, courtesy of ALA LLAMA. The PR Xchange Awards Competition is overseen by the PR Xchange Committee.
About the PR Xchange Event
The PR Xchange is a drop-in style event at the ALA Annual Conference. It will be held on Sunday June 25, 2017 at the ALA Conference Exhibit Hall, Special Events Area from 11:00am-12:30pm. It’s an exciting event where libraries across the country share their PR and marketing ideas. View and take free copies of award-winning PR materials from the juried PR Xchange awards, as well as promotional materials from libraries across North America. Attendees can learn how to improve their own promotional materials by talking with John Cotton Dana Award Winners, PR Xchange award winners, and other Library Marketing authors and experts.
The PR Xchange Event and the PR Xchange Awards Competition are both overseen by the PR Xchange Committee.
