Welcome to Reading With Libraries!
Thank you for joining us on the SEVENTH SEASON of our Reader’s Advisory podcast! We have more genres to discuss, new books to recommend, and we’re so glad you’re here to join us. We always enjoy our book group podcast, and we hope you do, too!

And today’s episode is very special: this is our official 100th episode! Yes, there have been a few bonus episodes, and we include our short Browsing Books episodes when this show is on hiatus for our sister podcast: Linking Our Libraries. So while we have been with you for many more than 100 episodes, we have really enjoyed being with you and chatting about 100 genres!

We want to thank you, the listeners, who have been with us since the beginning – special thanks to Chuck and Ralph who have been such good supporters! We want to thank people who drop in for episodes they like. And also to the listeners who are newbies – it’s great to have you join us.

And to make our celebration complete, we have invited back our Podcast Correspondent: Ariel from the Great River Regional Library System! Thanks for joining us again!

Beverages:

Each week we like to connect the theme of our books with our beverages!  To celebrate our 100th episode, we are enjoying some special birthday beverages. These recipes are from the website Kate and Tom’s and we give you links to all of them in our show notes page.

French Martini

The French Martini is a fantastic looking cocktail with maximum glam power. It is easy to drink, easy to make and has rapidly become the number one choice for Birthday Parties and other celebrations.

The Ingredients:

25 ml Vodka / 25 ml Chambord / 75 ml Pineapple Juice / 3 Raspberries for Garnish

How to Make:

  • Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  • Shake well.
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with 3 Raspberries.

Woo Woo

A very popular and fun cocktail. If you are looking for “easy to drink” and not too concerned with sophistication, the Woo Woo makes a perfect Birthday Cocktail.

How to Make:

  • Pour all ingredients into a highball glass over ice cubes.

Raspberry Ripple

Reminiscent of an Angel Delight dessert, this is the ultimate retro-style sweet concoction, and birthdays love a retro treat!

The Ingredients:

25 ml Raspberry Vodka, 25 ml Vanilla Vodka, 12 1/2 ml Sugar Syrup, 50 ml Half & Half, 6 Raspberries

How to Make:

  • Add all ingredients into Boston mixing glass and fill with ice.

Season Five Episodes:

This was fun season, with all kinds of interesting topics. And of course, we wrapped up this season with The Global Pandemic – so that was an unexpected adventure. We are very grateful to our guests who were able to come to our office before the quarantine started, as well as our guests who recorded online with us!

Season Six:

This was our season to try out some fun new bonus episodes, looking at books related to important pop culture issues, in addition to looking at our traditional book genres. It has given us more opportunities to explore books in different ways, and connect them with other things we can enjoy together.

And of course, we are still in Season Seven, so we have a few more fun episodes to look forward to before we move back over to our Linking Our Libraries podcast.
