RSVP today for a scholarship to attend CMLE’s Tea Social Event!

We are very excited for our upcoming event at the Mad Hatter Tea House in Anoka, taking place Sunday Sept. 30th at 10:30am.

If you’d like to come to this event, we want to make it as easy on you as possible. That’s why if you RSVP by the end of today, Monday Sept. 24th, we will cover the cost of your Queen of Hearts tea service. Really, if you are a library person, we want you to be able to come and connect with other library folks in the system! RSVP at the bottom of this post.

CMLE is a multitype library system. Our members work in school media centers, history centers, archives, public, and academic libraries, and more. We work to provide opportunities for our members that work in these different libraries to get together and discuss the various library victories and challenges that everyone faces in some form in the library world.
Who knows, you could make a new friend or form some useful professional connections! (Plus, there’s tea and fancy sandwiches involved!)

We hope you can make it! Please RSVP below:

Are you coming to tea with CMLE?

Getting together with our members in person is always something we value at CMLE. Since our members work in school media centers, history centers, archives, public, and academic libraries, we really appreciate learning about the diversity of tasks and challenges you handle every day! Plus, we love when our members get to meet each other and form connections across different types of libraries.

So, with that in mind, we are excitedly looking forward to our CMLE Tea event on September 30th! This will take place at the Mad Hatter Restaurant, in Anoka at 10:30am. (Have you been there before? We have not and are really excited, it looks like a delightful place!)

To make this event more accessible to our members we are also offering “scholarships” to CMLE members who RSVP to us by Monday, Sept 24. We will cover the cost of your Queen of Hearts tea service if you respond below. (We need to make reservations!)

Two Upcoming CMLE Social Events!

There are so many reasons September is great: back to school, pumpkin spice lattes, and TWO opportunities for you to connect with other awesome library folks! We want to meet in different places, so we can try out new things, and we can be closer to different members at different times.

On Tuesday, September 25th, we’ll be having a Postcard Party in the Park! Join us at Munsinger Gardens in St. Cloud from 11-1pm and let’s do some library advocacy! We provide postcards and postage, along with sample text, and we write to our legislators and local decision makers to urge them to support all types of libraries.

And on Sunday, September 30th, we’re doing something a little extra special: having tea! Join us at the Mad Hatter Restaurant, in Anoka at 10:30am. We do ask that you RSVP if you plan to join us for this event. We’ll talk libraries, hear about summer adventures, and enjoy delicious refreshments!

We hope to see you at one or both of our events. One of our goals as a multitype system is to connect members of the library community with each other, to network and share ideas and challenges. We can’t wait to see you!

Time for Tea!

We are already excited for this event, and it’s still some time in the future! (Plenty of time to get it onto your calendar!) Like cardigans and cats, tea fits the traditional idea of “librarian,” so we thought, great! Let’s have a tea party social event with our members!

We will meet at the Mad Hatter Restaurant, in Anoka:
Sunday, September 30 at 10:30.

As with all of our social events, we want to bring together members of the library community! It can be hard to leave your library or school or archive but interacting with others in the profession can be very beneficial, not to mention fun!

For this event, we are planning on the Queen of Hearts tea service. As this is going to be a little pricey, we are also offering “scholarships” to CMLE members who RSVP to us by Monday, Sept 24. We will cover the cost of your Queen of Hearts tea service if you respond below. (We need to make reservations!)

We want to meet in different places, so we can try out new things, and we can be closer to different members at different times. This is a bit of a drive, but we have set this up so you have time to go down to the Cities, if you want, after we are done. Plan on being here about an hour and a half, possibly longer if you wish.

We look forward to seeing everyone, to talking about libraries, to hearing about summer plans, and all the great things that can happen when a bunch of CMLE members get together!

If you know you can come with us (be pretty sure!), fill out the form below. We would love to see you, and hear about your library!!

Member Event: Join us for tea time!

English cream tea

You know we miss our members when we don’t see you. We  also want to be sure we are building a real library community across our system – so we want to have opportunities for everyone to get to know each other.

We are hosting another social event for members to attend, so we can have fun and chat about library stuff. (We can chat about all kinds of other fun stuff, of course!) This time we will be meeting for tea! Yes, tea is a traditional icon of the library profession (tea, cats, cardigans – all the best stuff); and we build on that here with a high tea.
