Do you like to talk about libraries?
Do you like to hang out with library people?
Does the idea of food and library talk together make you excessively happy??
Us too!!
One of the most frequent requests we have received from members is to have more opportunities to gather and talk informally. Many of you are alone in your libraries, and everyone likes to make connections across the system.
So we are setting up regular monthly gatherings for anyone in a CMLE library to meet, eat, and chat!
In our last poll on this topic, dinner was a huge winner over lunch gatherings. Mondays and Wednesday evenings were tied for the best nights.
To meet member needs, we will set up monthly dinners, alternating between Mondays and Wednesdays, at rotating locations across the system to be sure everyone has something they can attend.
We would love for you to attend all, some, or even a few! This is going to be casual, everyone paying their own way, and no agenda. The only purpose is to have a regular opportunity for all of us to get together, maybe meet some new people (or people you only know online), and to talk about library stuff. Of course, if photos of kids, pets, or vacations come out to be shared too – absolutely no one will mind!
First Meeting:
- Monday, January 30
- 5:30pm
- Old Chicago 4040 2nd St S, St Cloud, MN 56301
We have reserved a room there, so we will have some uninterrupted talking time!
Remember: this is casual. If you are running late – we still want to see you! If you have to leave early – no problem!
Please RSVP using the comment form below if you plan to attend!! We want to get a headcount, so we have an idea of how many people want to be there.
And we are looking at February dates and locations now! Do you have a favorite place we could meet up?? Send it in on the comment form, or email us!
Looking forward to having some time to chat about libraries!!
