Library Technology Conference 2015
March 18-19, 2015
Macalester College, St. Paul, MN

PLEASE NOTE! As of 12/12/2014 the conference is full and registration is closed!

Registration is limited to no more than 475 total participants. Once this level of participation is reached, registration will be CLOSED! Please register early in order to ensure your spot at the conference.

This year’s Library Technology Conference is again intended to provide an opportunity for library professionals and the technologists who support them to discuss the technologies that are affecting library services; to see examples of what libraries are doing with these technologies; and to provide a venue where participants can learn specific skills or knowledge that they can take back and adapt for use within their own libraries. The number of conference participants will be limited to no more than 475 in order to help ensure a quality conference experience and to help facilitate the interactive and hands-on nature of many of the sessions.

The two-day conference features two keynote speakers, Bohyun Kim and Courtney Greene McDonald, and will also include more than 60 conference sessions – traditional lecture-style sessions, hands-on/workshop sessions, interactive technology dialogue sessions, and poster sessions. A wide range of library technology-related topics will be covered during Lib Tech 2015 sessions.

We hope that you and other staff from your library will make plans to join us for this conference! For more information, visit the conference website.

Follett’s new Destiny Resource Manager

footer-logoRecently, Follett announced an addition to their tools that help school libraries. Destiny Resource Manager is a “new system that enables K-12 districts to track and manage all school assets.”

From Follett: “Resource Manager is a universal system for managing any and all assets (including print and digital textbooks)… [and]… provides Administrators with the data they need to ensure accountability to secure assets, and to make accurate ‘fact based’ budgeting and purchasing decisions based on asset utilization, condition and demand.”

It should be noted that Destiny Resource Manager will replace Destiny Asset Manager.

CMLE’s new look!

Don’t be alarmed! You’re at the right website. CMLE has recently changed its look. Nothing drastic mind you. You’ll still be able to find all our blog posts, but now all of our content is in one place. We’d appreciate your feedback. Hitting any dead ends or unexpected results on this site? Let us know in the box below, and thanks!

Ransom! Useful and worth the time

customLogoCMLE previously highlighted this program but with some free time coming for most during the holidays its worth looking at again!

Do you want a fun way to learn more about the Electronic Library for Minnesota (ELM) databases? Well get ready to play “Ransom!” a fun game that helps you learn about what ELM has to offer. By exploring the ELM databases you solve clues that will help you figure out who facetiously stole the Minitex blue ILL tubs.

Feedback from the program has been overwhelmingly positive. 100% of respondents said they learned something that will positively impact their job. Do you have an hour (or so)? Give Ransom! a try!
