Do you want a postcard from us?

Oldest Greek Postcard

We will be sending out postcards in the new year, to celebrate libraries in 2019! You know that we are library fans, and we like postcards. So we will be sending out our library postcards to members, to share information and library love!

We will send them our members, and if you want one too just give us your name and address below.

Want to try something new in your media center? Apply for a CMLE mini-grant!

We get pretty excited at CMLE about the new technology, programs, and makerspaces that have made their way into school libraries and media centers over the past few years. We also know that trying out new ideas may not always be in your library’s budget.

That’s why we started CMLE’s Mini-Grant service!

Last year we awarded six of these mini-grant awards, in amounts up to $300. You can read about the past recipients and their marvelous success on our website. From books about empathy to coding robots, you’ll see the possibilities are endless!

Maybe you got some inspiration for a new tool you’d like to try from a conference you attended this fall? Maybe you finally feel ready to try a new idea you’ve been thinking about for months? Read through our parameters for the mini-grants here, and then fill out an application!

As always, contact us with any questions at admin@cmle.org.

CMLE Office Hours tomorrow!

CMLE members and fellow library people: We want to be available to chat with you in-person about library topics! That’s why we hold CMLE Office Hours.

Tomorrow, Oct 23rd from 11am1pm (Note: We will NOT be available during the 3pm – 5pm time tomorrow) stop by our office, no appointment needed, to converse with us!

Still need to chat but can’t make it to our office? Email us at admin@cmle.org to work out an alternative! We are here to support you!

Thinking about attending a conference? Apply for a CMLE Scholarship!

Opportunities for professional development and continuing education are everywhere! Earlier this month was the Minnesota Library Association annual conference, later this week is the ITEM conference, and coming up in December is the TIES conference! Not to mention webinars and other online and in-person training opportunities!

We know it can often be difficult to come up with the time or money to attend conferences or training events. That’s why we offer scholarships! If you need financial assistance to cover the cost of registration, parking, cost of a substitute or child care expenses, we want to help you!

We’ve already awarded several scholarships for this year so join your colleagues and apply today!

You can read more about CMLE Scholarships here, or fill out an application today: CMLE-member-scholarship-application

Send us an email at admin@cmle.org with any questions!

Office Hours are back at CMLE!

Beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, Oct. 16th) we will again be holding weekly Office Hours at CMLE.
We will be available between 11am – 1pm and then from 3pm – 5pm (if you come after 3pm, ring the doorbell to come inside!) because we know it can be tricky to get away from your library, school, archive, or other place of employment! Office Hours take place at our location inside the cmERDC building at 570 1st Ave SE St. Cloud MN 56304

What are Office Hours?
It’s time for you to stop by our office, no appointment needed, to discuss any and all things library related! Maybe you are facing a particularly challenging situation at work, or maybe you have a fabulous new idea you’d like feedback on. We’re here to help!

As an added bonus we’ll try to have Official Office Dog Lady Grey make time in her busy schedule to be available as a quiet, encouraging cheerleader. (Note: if you would prefer we do not have Lady Grey in office when you’re planning to stop in, that’s no problem, just let us know and we’ll make arrangements for her to be elsewhere!)

If you’re looking ahead to next Tuesday the 23rd, we will only be available from 11am – 1pm that day.

We hold Office Hours at CMLE because we want to be easily available to our members, especially if you’d like to have a face-to-face conversation about any important (or fun!) library topics. If you can’t make it to our office, we are always available at admin@cmle.org!
