ILL Conference Highlight: Revolutionizing Resource Sharing with OCLC’s Katie Birch

REGISTER TODAY to attend the 2017 Minitex ILL Conference including Katie Birch’s session, “Revolutionizing Resource Sharing.”

Katie Birch has spent much of her career in resource sharing. Between 2005 and 2008, Katie took a lead role in the development of the UnityUK service, a country-wide resource sharing service in the UK. She is currently the Executive Director – Resource Sharing at OCLC, and is based in Dublin, Ohio. In this capacity, Katie oversees WorldShare ILL, including Article Exchange, Policies Directory and IFM, as well as ILLiad, Tipasa, Relais, VDX and WorldCat Navigator. Additionally, Katie is responsible for OCLC’s shared print strategy and OCLC’s Analytics product set. Katie moved from the UK to the USA in 2012.

Virtual National Library Legislative Day!

National Library Legislative Day is a two-day advocacy event that brings hundreds of librarians, trustees, library supporters, and patrons to Washington, D.C. to meet with their members of Congress to rally support for library issues and policies. Participants will receive advocacy tips and training, along with important issues briefings prior to their meetings.

*Please note that new advocate training will be held on May 1st during briefing day this year.

Due to increased interest in National Library Legislative Day 2017, we have reached capacity on registration. If you have any questions, please contact llindle@alawash.org or sign up to participate online.

Hosted by the St. Paul Public Library, Net Inclusion 2017 welcomes digital inclusion community practitioners, advocates, academics, Internet service providers, policymakers and entities reliant upon online access and digital skills of their clients/users.

We are thrilled to announce our keynote is Maya Wiley, the Senior Vice President for Social Justice and the Henry Cohen Professor of Urban Policy and Management at the New School.

The break-out sessions and panelists are now posted. We have multiple sessions on digital inclusion program funding and multiple sessions on policy impacting digital inclusion programs (local, state and federal).
