  • Pam and Paul Beckermann have moved to the Elk River Area School District as District Digital Learning Specialists. They were at Dassel-Cokato Middle and High Schools.
  • Justin Larson is the new Dassel-Cokato High School Media and Digital Learning Specialist.
  • CSB/SJU Libraries added a new Metadata Librarian, Violet Fox.
  • Robin Suhsen retirement– branch librarian at Princeton Area Library
  • Rachel Thomas is the new Patron Services Supervisor at Great River Regional Library
  • Julie Schmitz was hired as the new Associate Director of Human Resources at Great River Regional Library
  • Cindy Stamness retired after 35 years at Mora Schools.

Awards and Kudos

  • Doug Johnson and Laurie Conzemius recently won a Making IT Happen award from the International Society for Technology Education (ISTE). Doug Johnson is director of media and technology at Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Public Schools and Laurie Conzemius, recently retired after 30+ years as a teacher, media specialist, and district curriculum integration specialist in the Park Rapids and Sartell districts.

We’ve Learned

There is a Media Generalist opening in the Elk River School District. It is a .5 FTE opening at VandenBerge Middle School. View the position description now.


Rodger Lindgren, District Media Specialist, Aitkin Schools, Aitkin, MN, has retired this school year.


We’ve also learned that Angie Kalthoff and Sara Norman will be hosting some summer workshops. All classes will be at Discovery Elementary School in Waite Park and are for Primary/Elementary teachers. Topics include a variety of classes from iPad Basics for Teachers to Augmented Reality. Check out the link below for the list of all 7 classes:

LightbulbWe at CMLE have learned that Debbie Disher is retiring from the Holdingford Schools. Over the years Debbie has been a rock star participant in our region. She often offered a helping hand when we sought programming feedback or stepped up when we needed an informal presenter too! We wish Debbie only the best in this exciting new journey.

The Metadata Librarian provides professional leadership and management to ensure accurate, timely, and effective application of metadata rules and principles in library systems. The position is responsible for providing original cataloging and metadata creation and, in consultation with staff, determining appropriate standards, database maintenance routines, bibliographic quality control and workload distribution. Job Opening at the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library – Saint John’s University
