Got issues with your library’s use of e-books? Got some solutions that work for your students or faculty? Just want to learn more about the topic? Then please join us for the next ARLD Dialogue, held Thursday, November 8, noon to 1:00pm, at the Roseville Public Library.

ARLD Dialogues are free informal discussions held over lunch. This dialogue is hosted by Julie Kelly of the University of Minnesota’s Magrath Library. Please come with ideas and questions.

Box lunches are provided and registration is capped at 22 preregistered people. Register now to reserve a spot.

Register now for the Lake Superior Libraries UnSymposium, where you determine the conversation!

At your typical conference, the sessions have been planned months, if not years in advance, so the most current, pressing concerns in Library Land are relegated to informal conversations that pop up along the sidelines.

At the Lake Superior Libraries UnSymposium, the sidelines are the conference. Topics and agendas are determined in a bottom-up, democratic manner, rather than being handed down from on high. Everyone wants to talk about how publishers are handling e-books? Done. You’re the only one who wants to talk about the classification of old-timey radio programs? Too bad. Join your brethren in informative conversation and don’t forget to check out the tech petting zoo. This is an event for folks who want to actively participate (see: unconference). This 45-minute session is intended for librarians and others who would like to learn more about the *NEW* mobile searching experience using EBSCOhost or EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) – no separate profile or app required! We will explore all the features available when using a mobile device to access EBSCOhost or EDS to include searching, limiters, folders, delivery options, authentication, branding/customization, reporting, and statistics.

This session is specifically geared to grades K-5 teachers and librarians. Utilizing EBSCO’s Searchasaurus and Kids Search interfaces, participants will learn how to access grade-appropriate resources and help students get the research material they need! Superhero 2012 Conference – Registration Information

Flipped Education invites you to the second annual Superhero Tech Camp at Madden’s Resort in Brainerd, MN October 19-20, 2012.

Superhero is geared for innovators and leaders in educational technologies and was created to move beyond how-to and focus on authentic application and integration.  Superhero is different by design.  The sessions are longer, faster paced and are more collaborative with a high value given to the informal networking and learning that happens outside of the conference rooms.

Flipped Education is proud to announce Ramsey Musallam, one of the leaders in implementing Flip Teaching into his classroom, will be our keynote speaker and lead workshops at Superhero 2012. Ramsey speaks on best practices of Flip Teaching and cycles of learning using video as an instructional device.
