We encourage you to stop by, no appointment necessary, to chat with us about any library issues you may be working on!
CMLE Office Hours will be held each Tuesday of the month of Febrary: the 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th. Note: Lady Grey will NOT be available for library consultation on Feb. 13th. Office Hours are held from 11am to 1pm at our headquarters location in the cmERDC building at 570 1st St. SE in St. Cloud, MN 56304.

You probably already know that at CMLE, we offer a service called “Notable Dates for your Noggin” which feature special holidays and birthdays of authors, as well as publications of well-known books. In an effort to help you get more from this service, we’ve decided to select one “Notable Date” each month to feature. We will include a few fun programming and activity ideas too, all for you to use!
Monthly topics! This is a way for us to look at some information about a topic from a variety of different perspectives, to cover it fully. Our topics are taken from the recent needs assessment survey, and are the ideas and skills our members said they most wanted to know about in their library work.
We have concluded our look at Grants in January, and are covering Social Media this month.
There are all kinds of tools for social media, but the purpose to all of them is the same: to connect with your community members where they are. Social media can also be a great tool for that very important skill in communication: listening. It is a very easy way to listen to issues of interest to your community members, to find out what questions are coming up, and to make connections between people and ideas.

Jamie bravely compiles and shares online professional development events that you can sit at your desk and attend. And recently, I became aware of a nicely categorized listing of these events on the WebJunction site that makes it even easier for you to pick and choose. No time to attend live? No problem, register anyway and you will likely receive a link of the archived session.
